Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo finds himself at the center of a controversy. Opposed to Everton on Saturday as part of the 32nd day of the Premier League, Cristiano after their defeat (0-1) slammed the mobile phone of a young 14-year-old Everton fan on the ground.
The Cristiano Ronaldo affair is making headlines on Monday, April 11, 2022. As a reminder, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner dropped a fan’s phone after his team’s defeat against Everton.
Cristiano later explained and apologized for his bad gesture on social media. “It is never easy to manage your emotions in difficult times such as the ones we are experiencing”and add: “Nevertheless, we must always be respectful, patient and set an example for young people who love this beautiful sport. I would like to apologize for my outburst and if possible I would like to invite this supporter to come and watch a game at Old Trafford as a sign of fair play and sportsmanship”.
This Monday, the Daily Star featured several photos of Cristiano Ronaldo’s act and a photo of the fan’s mum with a slightly bluish hand. She explained to the tabloid that her son is “completely shocked”.
Merseyside Police announced on Sunday that they have opened an investigation…
“We can confirm that we are in contact with Manchester United and Everton following reports of a possible assault during the game between Everton and Manchester United at Goodison Park. An investigation is underway and police are working with Everton to analyze the CCTV footage and they are collecting all the evidence to establish if a crime has been committed.a police spokesman said.
Bad news for Cristiano Ronaldo. Another element is to be taken into account in this story, the supporter in question is a young man of 14 years, suffering from autism and dyspraxia.
