In Portugal’s 4-0 victory against Liechtenstein, CR7 scored a double, adding 120 goals for the Portuguese team.
In the qualifying duel for the Euro 2024 in Germany between Portugal and Liechtenstein, Cristiano Ronaldo added another world record to his already impressive record by breaking the FIFA record as the player who has played the most games for a national team in international matches.
Despite questions about his continuity as a national team after the World Cup in Qatar, Ronaldo made his 197th international appearance, beating Kuwait’s Bader Al-Mutawa.
In almost 20 years of international career, Ronaldo has faced 70 different countries and has participated in five European Championships and five World Cups. Likewise, with his double in the 4-0 victory over Liechtenstein, he reached the 120-goal mark.
If they continue lining up in the qualifiers, in June CR7 could be the first player to play 200 matches in a national team, when the Portuguese team faces Bosnia-Herzegovina.
