Cristian Tudor Popescu, new reaction about “Teambuilding”: “I felt like I was slowing down watching this stupid movie” VIDEO

Journalist Cristian Tudor Popescu made the first direct comments on the film “Teambuilding”. The writer believes that the apes are laughing at him for wasting time watching the movie

The Romanian film “Teambuilding” made by the team of BRomania (Matei Dima from Constanta) has made a big fuss since its recent release. Over a million Romanians saw the film, which led to a small record in terms of the number of viewers. Among them is the writer, journalist and film critic Cristian Tudor Popescu, who made some clarifications during a discussion with the residents of Brasov, held on Friday, January 13, 2023, at the Apollonia Cultural Bank.

Cristian Tudor Popescu says that he wrote two texts after watching the film.

„In none of these texts is a word spoken about the content of this production. Nothing! I don’t say anything there, that it’s good, that it’s bad, with which actors, who is the director, how is the sound, how is the picture, I don’t say anything at all“, stated CTP.

The journalist says that he did not comment on the film, but this fact occurred only in the imagination of some, who also gave headlines in the press to attract readers.

„I only said there that while I was watching the film, they were looking at me across the room – they had appeared from somewhere – some anthropoid monkeys who were laughing, but they weren’t laughing at the film, they were laughing at me, that I was watching the film. This is my comment and I don’t want to go beyond it“, added CTP.

CTP, worried about the social phenomenon created by the film

The journalist says that, due to the very large number of spectators who wanted to see the movie Teambuildingbelieved that a new text was needed.

„I was forced to write this comment because of the sociological phenomenon that this film represents, and there’s no joking around here, a million viewers, something like this has never been seen since the time of Sergiu Nicolaescu”, CTP explained the reason for the appearance of the second text.

Cristian Tudor Popescu says that the film “Teambuilding” does not have a problem with the fact that it is full of obscenitiesof vulgarity, of more or less dirty jokes, but with the fact that “it’s stupid”, as expressed by the writer, who says that he saw half of it and had the feeling that a bank of earth was falling on him.

„I didn’t manage to draw even a small smile, on the contrary, I felt like I was slowing down, I was also fooling around looking at what was there“, CTP also said.

The journalist shows that the film did not have a recipe for success through the names of those who made it, the director or the actors, so he explains the huge number of viewers by the fact that some people saw it at the beginning and recommended it to others after that everything went like a roller coaster.

CTP stated that it does not judge the actors, although it considers Micutzu a good actor, but he also had nothing to do with the lines he has in the film.
