Ten new ice creams for a variety of tastes – exactly so many types of cold desserts are included in the collection of the 2022 summer ice cream season of Latvia’s leading dairy processing and ice cream production company “Food Union”. Its range of new flavors and unique textures includes popular brands such as “Paul”, “Kārums”, “Jungle Pop”, “Tio” and “Ekselence”. The total investment in the development and launch of new ice cream on the market is about 80 thousand euros.
“The ice cream season and summer have a lot in common – these are the most anticipated moments of the year, which make us happy with new feelings and memorable moments of rest. This is also the time we – those working in the ice cream industry – are preparing for six months in advance, turning the freshest trends in the food world into ice cream with an innovative taste, shape and texture. This is also the top ten of this season – each ice cream is unique from its recipe, combinations of flavors and additives, up to the format – with or without a stick, in waffle cups or even in a squeezable tube. But as a result, it is a full-spectrum ice cream collection, which will be supplemented with other news during the summer, ”calls Sandra Usačeva, Food Union ice cream brand manager.
Skin for crispy desserts
“Food Union’s” most advanced and always up-to-date ice cream brand “Paul” this season offers three novelties, each of them combining opposite poles – soft milk and cream ice cream with various sweets and dessert crisps. Peanut lovers will appreciate the bar-shaped “Pole” – peanut ice cream with caramel and lightly roasted peanuts in glaze. This novelty continues the series of ice creams of Pola geometric shapes and is available in the size of some mouthfuls (53 ml).
Next – more! In a medium-sized sugar waffle cup (120 ml), a cream ice cream “Paul” with hazelnut flavor and hazelnut grill is created. But the brand’s largest sugar waffle cone (200 ml) features the new biscuit ice cream “Paul” with crispy chocolate balls. In addition, the ice cream “Paul Gotiņa” on a stick (120 ml) has returned to the store’s freezers after a short break.
Vegan friendly ice cream
To the delight of non-dairy and vegan lifestyles, Food Union has expanded its range of ice cream brand Jungle Pop with two new features. For the first time in the Jungle Pop range, ice cream on a stick is available – with a refreshing orange and lemonade flavor (60 ml). As well as after numerous consumer requests, the brand’s offer has returned ice cream with cola flavor (70 ml).
Excellent exotics and the taste of cinema
The offer of the company’s most refined ice cream brand “Ekselence” this season has been supplemented with a very expressive novelty – “Ekselence” cream coconut ice cream on a stick, enriched with coconut sauce and dressed in milk chocolate glaze with coconut crumbs (100 ml). The best-selling ice cream brand “Tio” in Latvia offers a new milk ice cream with caramel sauce and popcorn flavor in a classic waffle cup (130 ml).
Return of cottage cheese ice cream
Two versions of the legendary cottage cheese “Kārums” return to the store shelves with a carefully improved and nuanced recipe – bar-shaped (65 ml) vanilla ice cream and cottage cheese ice cream with strawberry sauce in Belgian chocolate glaze. Both novelties contain 20-25% cottage cheese, which gives these ice creams a slightly sour taste.
Recipes for all new ice creams have been developed at the Food Union Group’s Ice Cream Competence Center in Riga, where cold desserts are created for all the company’s home markets – Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Denmark, Norway and Romania, as well as export countries.
The sale of new ice cream has already started in the “Food Union” online store pienaveikals.lv, as well as in the largest chain stores and smaller backyard stores throughout Latvia. During May, the news will fill even more popular stores of Latvian buyers.
