For the seventh quarter in a row, the sales of Czech online stores have been falling. Many experts expected that after last year’s hard impact, which was mainly caused by unusually high inflation, the situation around e-shops would calm down over time. This should have happened in the second half of this year at the latest, but the turnaround did not come. The Czech e-commerce market has not yet experienced something like this, so the crisis is fundamentally changing the functioning of domestic e-shops.
Construction in the Czech Republic is at a standstill this year, and the lack of orders is gradually affecting all parts of the supply chain. Manufacturers of building materials, who do not have a market, have problems in particular. Some of them even had to reduce shifts, stop production, and there are also reports of mass layoffs. Czech manufacturers are not helped by the situation in the surrounding countries, where the market has also stopped.
When it comes to Chinese electric car manufacturers, we usually talk about their great competitive advantage over traditional European automakers and their more than decent chances of occupying the markets of the old continent. However, only the best of the best manage to make it to the stage of successful expansion. Not all Chinese car manufacturers have a bright future, on the contrary, most will disappear within a few years. The market there is undergoing a strong consolidation in favor of the biggest players, among which the American Tesla is not missing. Even because of its strategy of drastic discounts and price wars, not a single Chinese startup will survive.
