The prosecution proceeded with criminal prosecution for violence against a member of parliament during the performance of his duties (Article 157 of the Civil Code) against the member of parliament Konstantinos Floros for the attack on the member of the Hellenic Solution, Santa Written.
The serious incident that resulted in the injury of Mr. Grammenos, activated, with the immediate intervention of the Speaker of the Parliament, Kostas Tasoulas, the spontaneous procedure for committing a felony and thus the independent member of parliament was arrested immediately after his act.
A criminal prosecution was brought against the MP based on article 157 of the Criminal Code in the felony form of the first paragraph, which states that:
“Whoever, by force or threat of force, imposes on the Parliament or the Government or on a member of them the execution, omission or tolerance of an act related to their duties, shall be punished with imprisonment of at least ten years. The same penalty is imposed if the act is directed against a leader of a political party recognized according to the regulations of the Parliament”.
After the prosecution, the accused was taken to the Investigator, from whom he is expected to request a deadline. He will remain a prisoner until his apology.
How was the episode?
The Plenary considered the removal of the immunity of the president of the Hellenic Solution, Kyriakos Velopoulos, following the lawsuit filed by the independent MP’s father for attacks he had received on the internet from specific accounts.
During the meeting, tension arose when – according to information – the representative of the Hellenic Solution, Konstantinos Chitas, was arguing for the lifting of immunity, with the independent MP replying that the judiciary will judge whether the president of the Hellenic Solution is involved in the case.
Then, according to reports, tempers flared further for a dialogue with vulgar expressions to follow. “Shut it, you trash,” Vassilis Grammenos is reported to have said, with Konstantinos Floros responding in the same tone.
“W..oh your mother. I’ll take your mother… I’ll take you and with the bracelets inside you’ll remember it before…”, V. Grammenos returned saying, according to information.
After the exchange of pleasantries, the two MPs went out of the plenary hall, with Konstantinos Floros, according to reports, grabbing V. Grammenos by the collar and punching him, throwing him to the ground.
