Criminal month left without trace after Belgian prison accidentally released him

A homeless man sentenced to 40 months in prison was allowed to leave prison on December 24, the newspaper reports La Dernière Heure. He was stuck for a number of thefts. The release was a mistake.

On Christmas Eve, the admissibility of the appeal that the man had filed would be judged. The copy of the judgment was sent to prison, according to a spokesperson for the Brussels public prosecutor’s office.

Finally found

The man actually had to go back in jail, but due to a mistake, the prison released the prisoner.

A few days ago the man was found and picked up again. He is now in jail.
