Criminal Hristo Banski found dead in Dupnitsa apartment: Possible link to past criminal activity

He went to work in Italy for a few months and came back. The last time, when he came back, he started drinking too much, says a neighbor of Hristo Banski

The criminal Hristo Banski from the village of Bistrica was found dead in his apartment in Dupnitsa.

The sister of the 46-year-old Bansky went to the apartment in the Block of the Brave, where her brother lives, after trying to contact him by phone for a whole week, but he did not pick up. She found him dead on the floor in one of the rooms.

He is supposed to have died about a week ago. She started screaming in terror, someone from the neighboring apartments called 112, struma.bg reports.

Teams from the Emergency Center – Dupnitsa and forensic experts from the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrived at the scene. The doctor on duty only pronounced the man dead.

Forensics examined the body, but no signs of violence were found. They were in white protective clothing, carried him out of the apartment and put him in a hearse of the Kyustendil hospital, where an autopsy will be performed on his body to determine the cause of death.

“He went to work in Italy for a few months and came back. The last time, when he came back from Italy, he started drinking too much. Did someone threaten him with something in Italy…

A few years ago, he was detained there for participating in a group for major thefts in large warehouses with various goods, which, together with the averries, were then sold in Dupnitsa and the villages. We don’t know if a verdict has been reached,” commented neighbors of Hristo Banski.

About three years ago, the Bulgarian police and carabinieri in Italy, in a joint action, broke up a group for major thefts in large warehouses in Italy of various types of goods. Then three members of the group were arrested in Dupnitsa, and Hristo Banski was detained in Italy. During the course of the investigation, it was found that the group had “scouts” who went around searching for warehouses in a remote and unguarded location.

The thefts were committed at night. They picked up everything – scooters, bicycles… In one of the selected warehouses there were children’s toys, the group picked them up and then sold them in Dupnitsa in the shops and in Sofia directly in warehouses.
