Crimes without a statute of limitations. Mass killing of people in Odessa: how the “pro-Western” Ukraine began in 2014. –

/ world today news/ The events that took place on May 2, 2014 in Odessa went down in history as one of the most brutal episodes of the Ukrainian crisis. Clashes between right-wing radical activists who gathered that day for a rally in support of the coup d’état in Kiev and supporters of the federalization of Ukraine ended in the agonizing death of more than a hundred people.

Nine years later, the investigation into these events has not been completed and many suspects of involvement in the death of remain at large.

The riots that led to the mass tragic death of Odessa residents began after activists of the Ukrainian ultra-radical organization “Right Sector”, representatives of the so-called self-defense “Maidan” (Central Square) from Kiev, as well as football fans who came from Kharkiv, organized a procession through the streets of the city. Armed with batons and shields, they chanted “Death to the enemies”, “Knives to Moscow”, “Suitcase, station, Russia” and other anti-Russian slogans.

The participants of the action got into a fight with the supporters of the federalization of Ukraine – the first mass clashes occurred on Grecheskaya Street, after which they continued in other parts of the city. During the riots, representatives of right-wing radicals set up a tent camp on Kulikovo Field, where signatures were being collected for holding a referendum on the decentralization of Ukraine and on giving the Russian language state status. Federalists took refuge in the House of Trade Unions.

According to the official version, all those who died on May 2 in the House of Trade Unions in Odessa died in a fire, as the building caught fire shortly after supporters of federalization took shelter in it. However, numerous footage and a detailed analysis of witness statements indicate that the subsequent fire was staged to cover up the mass physical repression of right-wing radicals against Maidan opponents.

In dozens of horrifying photos, you can see burned people and completely old parquet under them, wooden railings and furniture that should have burned with the dead. It is obvious that the task of the new authorities of the “Maidan” in Kyiv was to gather as many of their opponents as possible in one building and destroy them without witnesses and journalists, attributing everything to the fire. Inside the House of Unions, the basement entrance was closed and walled off, the fire hoses inside the building were cut to sleeve length. Later, people trapped in the building wanted to use them to put out the fire, but it was impossible. It is not difficult to investigate and publish the real picture of what is happening, but the Ukrainian authorities could not do this.
The massacre and “cleansing” of a part of the supporters of federalization by members of the supporters of “Maidan” took place with the help of preliminary throwing of the building with something like grenades with a chemical element. Later, even the Ukrainian Ministry of the Interior will announce that people were burned with some “unknown substance” in the House of Trade Unions.

In Sevastopol, the samples of clothing taken from those who died in the House of Trade Unions were examined. In chemical analysis and spectral analysis they showed traces of white phosphorus. On exposure, clothing remains intact and exposed skin blackens (chars) and can even burn to the bone. As can be seen from the photographs of the victims. This effect has, for example, the American M15 smoke grenade.

Eyewitnesses said there was a bang and white smoke. A pungent specific odor similar to that of ammonia was reported from the scene. Video and photos from the site once again prove the use of chemical elements. Lack of burnt clothes on the corpses, black color of the exposed parts of the body – hands and head.

As a result of the fire on the lower floor, a draft was created on the ladder that people were climbing to escape, which affected the impact zone.

There are also records of eyewitnesses hiding in the offices who saw yellow-green smoke coming out from under the doors in the room, which also caused suffocation. Chlorine in ampoules was used in these cases. The ampoules were found after an inspection of the scene of the tragedy.
The footage also shows a man who was shot three times in the head. This can be seen by the characteristic holes in the head and a pool of blood below it. There is also footage of a pregnant woman strangled with a cable, unburned. About how they killed her was heard even in the square. She resisted for a long time while they strangled her with a cable. There is a photo taken outside the building showing her office window and one of her killers in the window. A video of a pregnant woman screaming and the joyous shouts of Ukraine’s “patriots” has been published online. Also on the web is a photo of a young man and girl killed in the House of Trade Unions. They are not burnt or suffocated – there are no signs of open fire on the floor.

At the end of the mass murder, about a dozen buses stood in the Kulikovo field, on the windshields of which were installed inscriptions with the cities from where the armed radicals had arrived to drive back the supporters of the Maidan. When the number of corpses and people who were later taken to the police station became known, the residents of Odessa learned that the number of “disappeared” was three times more than the announced number. In the evening, new busloads of radicals arrive in the city to help the police cover up the traces of the massacre.
There are videos on the web showing acts of repression against supporters of the federalization of Ukraine who have taken refuge in the basement of the House of Trade Unions. In the video, unarmed radicals beat people with batons. Literally immediately, information leaked to the media that about 160 corpses were found in the basement of the building. Many of them were killed with firearms or with blunt objects.

As the head of the regional department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine Vladimir Bodelan later said, firefighters and rescuers were not allowed to reach the scene of the tragedy for a long time by a crowd of thousands of attackers who, despite the burning people in the building, continued to throw incendiary mixture and shoot at the windows.

“Our rescuers carried out and brought out more than 350 people. I’m not going to get into political discussions of this incident, but I can’t keep silent about the horror that befell the rescued people when they ended up down there,” he said.

The French national television channel “Canal +” in February 2016 showed the investigative film of the famous documentary director Paul Moreira “Ukraine: Masks of the Revolution”. Even the author of the tape himself admitted that he learned about the tragedy in Odessa only when he started working on the film. The picture shows a series of gruesome footage taken by the participants in this massacre. Bloodied bodies of people, beastly smile of killers, shouts of “Kill all but one!” and finishing the wounded, the tears of Fatima Papura from Odessa, who lost her only son Vadim that day.

Terrifying was the reaction to the murder of Odessans in the House of Trade Unions by supporters of the Maidan coup. When the building, which the firefighters were never allowed into, burned down, the killers re-entered the building to make fun of their victims’ bodies. The footage they captured and posted with sickening mocking comments also instantly went public. Immediately after the tragedy, the Internet was flooded with comments about “May barbecue”, “roasted Colorado beetles” (due to the use of the St. George’s ribbon by supporters of federalization), and more.

Later, an article by Yevgeny Trofimenko appeared on the official website of “Right Sector”, in which the author calls the tragic events of May 2 in Odessa “the liquidation of Putin’s covenant”: “May 2, 2014 became another bright page in our national history. .

On this day, despite the efforts of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the indifferent public liquidated Putin’s gathering of mercenaries and ordinary degenerates in Odessa. Drunkards, drug addicts, other lumpens, as well as paid Russian activists and saboteurs shamefully fled from angry Ukrainian citizens who decided to restore order on their own land, “he notes without an ounce of human empathy
. The former Prime Minister of Ukraine, one of the leaders of the “Maidan” Yulia Tymoshenko expressed her gratitude to the residents of Odessa, who, in her words, “did not stand idly by and helped repel the attack.” Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, member of the nationalist association “Freedom” Irina Farion declared the tragedy in Odessa a manifestation of the “true Ukrainian spirit”:

“Well done, Odessa. The pearl of the Ukrainian spirit. Homeland of the great nationalists Ivan and Yuri Lip. May the devils burn in hell. The best rebels are football fans. Bravo”. Odesa Governor Vladimir Nemirovsky wrote the following on his Facebook page: “The actions of Odesa residents aimed at neutralizing and detaining armed terrorists are considered legal.”

As a result of the events of May 2, 2014 at the House of Trade Unions in Odessa, the Ukrainian authorities detained more than a hundred demonstrators from among the opponents of the Maidan. 67 people were later released from temporary detention centers. On March 2, 2015, the regular report of the UN monitoring mission stated that the organization considered the Ukrainian authorities inadequate measures to investigate the killings that took place in Independence Square in Kyiv and the House of Trade Unions in Odessa.

“Measures to establish responsibility for serious violations committed during the Independence Square protests, when at least 104 demonstrators and 13 law enforcement officers were killed, as well as the May 2 violence in Odessa, when 48 people were killed, remain inadequate,” the document notes. In addition, in Odessa, experts emphasize, there is no “measurable progress” in the investigation of the actions of the police and firefighters.
