On the final day of the world music festival “Porta”, which will take place from July 27 to July 29, the Crimean Tatar singer from Ukraine “Jamala” will take the stage at the Latvian Ethnographic Open Air Museum, informs the representative of the festival organizers Ilze Apsiņa.
She points out that at the festival, in addition to the variety of music, concertgoers will also have the opportunity to get to know the traditional flavors of the national cuisines of the member states. For the first time, the festival will visit Kuldīga, where an opening concert is expected on the evening of July 27 in Pils Park, where the rhythm group “Slatucada” from Morocco will start the evening with the rhythms of African drums, while the electro-folk group “Okra Playground” from Finland will share the energy in the continuation of the concert.
On the evening of the second day of the festival, July 28, in Von Strick’s villa, it will be possible to indulge in performances by the artist Paivi Hirvonen from Finland, the association “Rahu The Fool” and “Le Diable à Cinq” from Canada.
On the other hand, on July 29, in the new home of “Porta” – the Ethnographic Open Air Museum of Latvia – it will be possible to enjoy “Duo Ruut” from Estonia on the “Ambient” stage. Daniel Herskedal from Norway will also perform. Ukrainian singer and songwriter “Jamala” will perform on the second stage of the festival alongside “Okra Playground” and “Slatucada”.
