Swedish police are hunting for the person or persons who shot and killed a man and wounded a teenage boy in Stockholm late Tuesday night.
Tuesday night, two people were shot in Stockholm. A man in his 40s died after the injuries, and a 16-year-old boy was also shot and is seriously injured, the police stated on Wednesday night.
The shooting took place in Farsta, about 8 kilometers south of Stockholm city center, just before 10 pm on Tuesday night.
– One person was found at a gate entrance and the other a short distance away, says police spokesman Per Fahlström.
Tried to run away from the shots
According to SVT was the teenage boy on his way home from football training when he was shot. The boy sought shelter inside the stairwell, but was hit by five shots, witnesses tell the police.
The boy is being treated in hospital for the serious injuries.
Sources say Aftonbladet that the rise was marked by at least ten bullets. The police can not yet say whether the people involved were shot by mistake.
No arrests have been made so far in the case, but a person must have been arrested, according to Expressen.
The Swedish newspaper has received tips about a possible perpetrator on an electric scooter that was seen in the area in connection with the shooting.
Two men were seen running from the scene and into a forest area, and the police later found an electric scooter and burnt clothes. The police have so far not confirmed this information.
– Narrow properly
Police have begun investigating the murder and attempted murder. The man in his 40s was dead when police arrived on the scene. There should be no relationship between the two victims.
The hunt for one or more perpetrators continued through the night, but on Wednesday morning they were still at large.
– We are investigating why one died and one was injured, and who is behind it, says Towe Hägg, spokesperson for the police in Stockholm.
Several witnesses witnessed the shooting episode. according to Aftonbladet a witness was sitting in her living room when she heard a loud bang.
– It slammed properly. It sounded like they were emptying an entire magazine, the witness told police.
Examining connections
Also on Monday night, there was shooting in the same part of Stockholm. Witnesses saw how a man on a bicycle fired several shots at a person outdoors in Farsta. The police found no injured people, and no one was arrested.
– We always look at whether there are connections between such incidents, but it is too early to establish, said police spokeswoman Helena Boström Thomas after the last shooting episode on Tuesday night.
