Crime Spree in Rotterdam: Robberies, Cocaine Bust, and Tragic Accident

There was a robbery at a snack bar in Rotterdam on Tuesday night. Around 10pm, a man wearing a balaclava threatened the workers with a knife in Oranjeboomstraat.

The perpetrator stole money from the cash register. No one was injured in this robbery. The police are investigating.

A man was robbed in Poortugaal on Tuesday night around 9:30 pm. He had just withdrawn money from a machine in Waalstraat, after which the victim had to hand over his money at knifepoint.

A woman was also threatened afterwards, but nothing was taken from her. It is not clear how many people are involved.

Customs found 500 kilos of cocaine in the port of Rotterdam on Tuesday. The drugs were in a container with scrap metal and had a street value of 37.5 million euros.

The ship was on a ship that came from Ecuador. This would be transferred to Rotterdam, after which the ship would eventually arrive in Thailand.

The drugs have now been destroyed, the Public Prosecution Service reports.

Loes may have a headscarf, police write. She can travel on public transport in the presence of others.

Officers arrested a 22-year-old man on Museumstraat in central Rotterdam because he was carrying an airsoft gun. The man acted suspiciously and fled when the officers passed.

He was caught a little later. After a struggle with one of the officers, the resident of Rotterdam was arrested with the help of a taser. The firearm turned out to be an airsoft weapon.

Following an accident involving a truck and two passenger cars, the A15 is closed between Rotterdam-Charlois and Zuidplein. At this time, traffic can use the parallel lane of the highway.

The road was cleared around 11am. At its peak the delay was an hour. The movement ran from the Benelux junction via the A4, A20 and A16.

A motorcyclist was killed on the Stadium Viaduct in Rotterdam-Feijenoord on Tuesday morning after a collision with a van and a car. After the accident, the motorcycle caught fire.
