Crime Scene Cleaner | Tests – Spieletests

On August 14, 2024, the simulation from developer President Studio and publisher PlayWay SA was released, which lets you clean macabre locations where you need strong nerves. In my review, I will introduce you to the game.

Story and plot:

In Crime Scene Cleaner you take on the role of family man Kovalsky, who doesn’t have it easy as a single father of a small daughter, which is why he’s happy with any job as long as he can earn good money. And if there’s one thing he’s good at, it’s cleaning crime scenes for the mafia. Grab a bucket and a mop and get started, clean the crime scene and leave no traces, otherwise it could end badly for your virtual self and your daughter.

Cleaning and upgrade

The main task in Crime Scene Cleaner is to accept various missions on the computer, drive to the crime scenes and clean them, which include mopping up lots of blood, disposing of bodies and disposing of broken glass and furniture. There are various tools at your disposal that you can upgrade to make your job easier. With upgrades you can ensure that, for example, the water does not have to be changed as quickly or that the mop is more effective and cleans larger areas. The skill tree is divided into different categories, to get skill points you have to complete the missions in the game, for which you are paid, the money you earn is then converted into skill points. To maximize your salary there are secrets that you can discover, including rooms and music cassettes.

Graphics and sound:

Crime Scene Cleaner was created using the Unity 5 engine and looks very good in my opinion, especially the blood pools are impressive. The characters and corpses could look better, but since you just throw them into the car and then pack them up, it’s not that important. The crime scenes look very good and are very detailed. There are bottles, glasses and many other objects lying around that can break if you’re not careful. Players who don’t like blood should probably choose another game, because there’s no shortage of it here, there’s blood, overcrowded pools, blood pools on walls, floors and even dripping ceilings. In terms of sound, Crime Scene Cleaner doesn’t offer much, the sound effects are acceptable and the soundtrack is nice but forgettable. You can also listen to your own music in the background. The voice actors do a good job and breathe more life into the short cutscenes.
