Crime scene: A gmahde Wiesn – watch here

“A gmahde Wiesn” in Bavarian means both “a mown meadow” and colloquially “a project that cannot go wrong”. And the Oktoberfest is of course also synonymous with the Munich Oktoberfest, the largest folk festival in the world. As every year, showmen and Munich innkeepers prepare to compete for the coveted places. The violent death of the influential city councilor Hubert Serner is therefore the topic of discussion in the city. His assistant Diana Aljescu found the lawyer in his garden pond. Serner, a member of the Economic Committee, had a decisive say in the awarding of Oktoberfest licenses. His divorced wife Elizabeth gives the Munich inspectors Ivo Batic and Franz Leitmayr initial information. After the diligent research of their colleague Carlo Menzinger, the homicide detectives fight their way through an increasingly impressive list of Serner’s beloved women. The successor of the murder victim August Eckl has to deal with the tangible economic interests of the established Munich innkeeper families and showmen. There is the resolute landlady Johanna Buck with her pretty daughter Evelin and Johanna’s husband Niklas. On the other hand, the innkeeper Xaver Neureuther and his son Timo are fighting for their so-called right to sit at the Oktoberfest. And the siblings Renee and Fridolin Zoll should not be underestimated: the two showmen look after their ancestors’ traditional carousel and are facing financial ruin with the beautiful but small ride.
