Freiburg (dpa) – In the case of years of abuse of a little boy from Staufen near Freiburg, an already convicted man comes back to court. The proceedings before the Freiburg Regional Court as of today are about the question of whether the man has to go into preventive detention after serving his sentence. The sentence of ten years for serious rape of the boy, child abuse and forced prostitution remains unaffected.

When the then 33-year-old Spaniard was convicted in 2018, the judges waived preventive detention. The public prosecutor’s office lodged a complaint with the BGH and was right in May of last year. A new chamber of the Freiburg Regional Court is now negotiating again on this aspect. For the time being, four days of negotiations are scheduled for the procedure. According to a court spokesman, the verdict is to be read out today. The Spaniard also has the opportunity to comment on the case again. As witnesses, three police officers are expected to be heard on Wednesday.

The crimes against the child became known in January 2018 and had caused horror nationwide. The mother and her boyfriend raped the boy for over two years and gave them to other men from home and abroad in exchange for money for serious sexual violence. There were eight judgments in the case.
