Snow conditions, access & weather
Weather/temperatures: -4°C at departure / Great weather with some sails to the south. A bit of unpleasant north wind on the ridge.
Access conditions/altitude of the car park: White road from Le Collet, it is better to be on snow tires. Super Collet car park 1630 m.
Altitude of putting on/taking off shoes: Super Collet car park 1630 m.
Skiing conditions: Very good!
– The slopes are groomed for this first day of opening of the resort.
– The ridge is well blown, and there are small cornices. Hard snow with relief.
– In the valleys, we find around forty cm of light to very light powder in well-sheltered places.
=> No traps or traps.
Avalanche activity: RAS in the sector. In conversions, small plates of around fifteen cm sometimes go straight. I would not have risked steep altitude slopes…
Skiability: 🙂 Good

What’s better than Crête des Plagnes to taste fresh powder at a lower cost?!
As usual, an early departure will allow you to enjoy the beautiful colors of dawn, as well as being among the first to open the valleys.
Having left at the same time as another loner with whom we will go part of the way (hello to you), I find myself all alone on the ridge to have the privilege of making the first trace in the central valley. Top ! The powder flies and it spins with your ears! The sun joins me during the first descent to further increase the pleasure…
As I tackle the hard work of tracing the climb, I come across two other morning people (Bertrand38) with a smile as wide as mine!
As soon as I finish the trail up to the crests, I immediately dive back for a second descent in a parallel sector. And during my second ascent (easier ;-)), I come across two skiers, one of whom recognizes me for having passed me a few times, including one in the same sector 🙂 (hello to you too!)
I would do one last descent to trace a few mini corridors which have the merit of being often neglected!
Last lift, it’s already midday and it’s time to go back because the crowds are there!
A very good day in the mountains; not bad for the start of December.
PS: Some will think or say that there are too many photos of tracks… Know that the goal is not the ostension of a technique that I do not have, but rather the “skiing” expression of ‘an artistic will! THANKS 😉
