Crete: Norwegian scabies outbreaks in a school – Spread with a touch –

Scabies appeared at the 3rd Special Primary School in Chania, Crete, as a result of which the school unit was locked on Friday 10/18.

The laboratory tests showed that it is Norwegian scabies which, as experts say, is easily transmitted and has severe symptoms. The school has already been disinfected and today the school unit will operate normally.

Who is he offending?

“It is a special form of scabies that was discovered in Norway 170 years ago. It is a special form that affects special populations. It presupposes a weakened immune system, special diseases, such as dementia and neuropathic problems, as well as in populations, in people with special skills,” Professor of Pulmonology Nikos Tzanakis told the Mega Time Society.

“It is transmitted very easily, even by an accidental touch, with objects and clothes. A careful epidemiological approach to the space the student used is needed,” he said.

The symptoms

The most common symptoms of scabies are itching and skin rashes. These can concern a large part of the body or be limited between fingers, wrists, elbows, armpits, nipples, genital area, waist, between shoulder blades, knees, etc.
