An alarming incident of a landslide occurred in a school complex in Crete.
The incident happened on Saturday (08/11), when part of the slope collapsed at the ENEEGYL and EEEEK schools of Heraklion in the area of Agios Ioannis Hostos, where 200 students are housed.
It is noted that road construction works are being carried out at the same time.
The Teachers’ Association, as well as the Parents’ and Guardians’ Association, request the relocation of the school to another building.
“We have been calling for this for many years and are asking for the relocation of the school. The school has been placed on an earthen ground that has no support or security from anywhere. The director of ENEEGYL requests and demands the relocation of the school, because the place is dangerous”, said Maria Frescou, president of the Association of Parents and Guardians of ENEEGYL Heraklion.
It is emphasized that the students miss classes, as the building is unsuitable and they fear for their safety.
