Patrice Béhague, director of the center of resources, expertise and sports performance (Creps) of Bordeaux, located in Talence, wears a broad smile at the mention of the Olympic Games in France next year. In 2020, his establishment was selected to become Games preparation center (CPJ). Since then, he has only dreamed of one thing: “Seeing the French oly and para teams [pour olympiques et paralympiques, NDLR] shine at the Olympics. The goal is to win! »
Until then, the Creps is transformed into a preparation sanctuary for the blue-white-red teams, with several dozen delegations which are or will be welcomed for training courses, like the French men’s volleyball team. ball, gold medalist in Tokyo, who left the scene on August 17 after two weeks of summer training (see below).

“Here is a brand new gymnasium, in the changing rooms we have two cold baths requested by the volleyball team. We received a lot of credits from the National Sports Agency, which pays for around 80% of these baths, we really have nothing to complain about, ”lists Patrice Béhague while strolling through the sports hall.
Expertise
Indeed, everything related to the Olympic Games, that is to say the equipment or services that are added to the traditional activities of the establishment, is financed by credits from the National Sports Agency. As for sports training, it is the staff of the teams who take care of it. All that remains for the Creps is to welcome the delegations in the best possible conditions. “There is a real emulation here, all the agents are committed to France going for medals at the Olympic Games, so we try to do things well by using our know-how”, adds Patrice Béhague.
Everything must be meticulously tied up so that nothing gets stuck and that each team trains without any hiccups.
In this quest for the perfect welcome in the service of sporting performance, Cyril Faucher has a key role. When a team comes to an internship, he is their referent: “I have the role of liaison officer. The team only has one mobile number, it’s mine, they can call me day and night: from the problem in training to the key stuck in a bedroom door. Cyril Faucher must “investigate the needs” before the teams arrive – prevention is better than cure: “Check the installation of the cameras, the bedding, the opening of the barriers, the maintenance, all these little implicit things that we must think to facilitate their stay here. »
The planning puzzle
He who travels by bike between the different rooms has above all the heavy task of keeping the schedules. Sharing weight rooms, catering schedules, transport, everything must be meticulously tied up so that nothing gets stuck and that each team trains without any hiccups.
On the ground, Cyril Faucher is the relay between the staff of the teams and the Creps.

“We all participate together in this collective adventure. In 2024, it is with us, adds Patrice Béhague. For the first time, we can display the Olympic rings, and we also have large frescoes that highlight the French teams, the young people who train here see all that, soon it will be their turn. We support the high level on a daily basis but, there, it is exacerbated with the Games”, rejoices the director of the place, before concluding: “Seeing all the Creps staff who are mobilizing, that, I like it. »
