Creole jockeys Samy Camacho and Sonny León each achieved victories on Saturday at the Tampa Bay Downs, Florida and Mahoning Valley Race Course in Ohio, to continue fighting for the lead in the respective statistics.
Samy Camacho won the first race of the afternoon with Speed Salsa and later won the ninth of the program with Exchequer, in order to reach 42 wins, with which he woke up in first place yesterday, beating Antonio Gallardo, his great rival in this florid oval. In 2021, Samy has 17 wins, to be among the most winning Venezuelan riders. Another Creole, Daniel Centeno, maintains the third position with 22 victories.
Sonny stays
Sonny Leon is still star-studded at the Mahoning Valley Race Course oval. He rounded off a good day on Saturday afternoon to win two races and reach 18 this season and thus achieve first place in the statistics. The Creole maintains a close fight with his colleague Luis Raúl Rivera for the leadership in the popular racetrack located in Ohio.
He reached first place in the third Saturday race with the High Rolling Dude and repeated in the fourth race with Split’s Image. Its effectiveness is very striking and if it remains so, it could well reissue the title achieved at the end of 2020 on the same racing circuit.
Santiago in the fight
Santiago González remains among the most winning jockeys on the Turfway Park circuit in Kentucky, where he already has 12 wins, by 14 for Gerardo Corrales and for the performance he has been showing, he can continue in the fight and seek the leadership in the picturesque racetrack from Kentucky.
In total, Santiago has achieved 542 firsts in his career at United States racetracks, in a campaign that he completed with 556 seconds and 610 third parties.

Thanks to his second place in the Pegasus World Cup with Jesus’ Team, José Francisco D’Angelo woke up yesterday in 4th place in the statistics by production at Gulfstream Park.
