Cremona footballers beat AS Roma 2:1 in the 24th round of the Italian league and left the last place in the table. The home side ended their longest-ever Serie A winless streak of 30 games.
Juventus beat FC Turin 4:2 in the derby and moved to seventh place in the table just below the cup rungs, on which they lose six points. Paul Pogba came on the field for the last 21 minutes in the winner’s jersey, for the 2018 world champion it was the first game since last May, since then he has not played due to a thigh injury.
Ciofani scored a penalty eight minutes before the end of Cremona’s 1-1 win. Thanks to the victory, the Lombardy team moved to the penultimate 19th place, one point ahead of Sampdoria Genoa. Eight points separate him from the rungs that ensure salvation.
AS Roma already lost to Cremona in the quarter-finals of the Italian Cup in the current season. Coach José Mourinho’s team, which today at the beginning of the second half had to go to the stands after a red card, missed the chance to move up to the bars securing the Champions League and is fifth.
After the game, Mourinho complained about the fourth referee, who allegedly provoked him, and the Portuguese coach was sent off for his reaction. “For the first time in my career, the referee spoke to me in an unforgivable way,” Reuters quoted the coach as saying.

“I’m not crazy. I just reacted to what happened. I wonder if there’s anything I can do about it legally,” added Mourinho. “I got the red card because the fourth referee told the referee to give it to me. But he didn’t have the courage to add what he told me,” he added.
The last time Cremona won in Serie A was in 1996, when they made their last appearance in the top competition before last year’s promotion. It shares the unflattering record with Ancona, which recorded it between 1993 and 2004.
