Andrè Schiefer’s women have an almost impossible task ahead of them with Düsseldorfer HC, champions of 2015, 2019 and 2022. After the resignations of Anna Causin, Julia Tondorf and Laura Schmitz, no more experienced pillars are available in the already young team. In addition, captain Johanna Schneider (half abroad), head of defense Nike Michler (injury) and top scorer Malikah Hamza (out of the hall) are missing other notable players. However, the team, studded with many talents, has improved during the preparation and allows the coach to look at the season with optimism. “Obviously it will be extremely difficult against Düsseldorf, but we want to score as well as possible against the other teams,” says Schiefer. “We have grown further and improved in terms of level during the friendlies. There are currently four young A’s in our starting lineup, but they have also gained experience in the women’s division.” The ladies are led by the new captaincy duo Lynn Krings and Anna Küskes. The other teams in the west are RW Köln, Mülheim, Bonner THV and RTHC Leverkusen.
