For the first time in the history of the “Rocky” franchise, a movie will be made without Sylvester Stallone. Michael B. Jordan will make his behind-the-camera debut for “Creed 3” and he may just have found the one to play his future opponent.
Creed 3 : Adonis orphan of Rocky
The character of Rocky had come to the end of a cycle with Rocky Balboa. The saga was not, however, shelved and, in 2015, Creed restarted the machine. Sylvester Stallone was back, to endorse the role of Adonis Creed’s mentor, the son of his old friend. This role was entrusted to Michael B. Jordan. For the third part, the actor will sign his debut behind the camera but he will no longer be able to count on the presence of the emblematic boxer. If you are not yet aware, it has been officially announced that Sylvester Stallone was not going to appear onscreen, leaving his foal to fend for itself. A fairly logical progression, to finally cut the cord and allow Adonis to take all the light.
The scenario remains to this day still unknown. Since the franchise is certainly not going to reinvent itself into something else, we expect the main character to take on an even tougher challenge than in the past. We can even say that the narrative diagram is likely to be copied from that of Rocky 3. After hatching and consecration, Adonis could experience a painful fall forcing him to draw on himself to get up.
Jonathan Majors in the skin of the villain?
Failing to know more about what history has in store for us, Deadline provides important information on the casting. According to the reliable American media, Jonathan Majors would be in pole position to play the villain. Negotiations are still ongoing and nothing is done, as the actor needs to be able to add this project to his busy schedule.
Jonathan Majors is one of the revelations of recent years, an actor who continues to rise and who should soon explode. You could see it in the awesome series Lovecraft Country or at Spike Lee, in Da 5 Bloods. Marvel has already grappled with him by entrusting him with the role of Kang in Ant-Man and the Wasp : Quantumania. His participation in Creed 3 could accelerate its rise even more and place it definitively as one of the sensations of the 2020s. It is all the harm we wish it.
