Creditors of a bankrupt healthcare institution for young people in Almelo are probably missing out. Research shows that two buildings of the institution were sold in 2017 and 2018 and can therefore no longer be realized for the creditors. One of the creditors is the municipality.
The healthcare institution was discredited when it turned out that the former director had spent tons on casino visits. She also feted clients with gifts such as designer bags and a breast augmentation. In addition, the director shifted money between several private companies. The healthcare institution, for example, lent more than € 6,000 to a company in its name.
The institution’s real estate was also housed in a separate limited company, which was owned by the director’s son. The sale of the two properties is described in a new bankruptcy report, reports RTV East. That bv is now also bankrupt.
Pay off debts
The trustee writes that one of the buildings was sold at the end of 2017. The proceeds were used to pay off debts from another company of the healthcare institution. At the end of 2018, the second building was sold to a third party, after which the institution rented the property back and sublet the rooms to clients.
Due to the sale of the property, the chance that creditors will see some of their money back has decreased considerably. The bankruptcy report of the bankruptcy trustee states that the debt of the various private limited companies to the tax authorities alone is already around € 4,000.
The municipality of Almelo is one of the creditors of the bankrupt healthcare institution and previously started proceedings against the director. The court and the court ruled that the woman must repay more than 670,000 euros. The new bankruptcy report states that the director is contesting this decision with the Council of State. The procedure is still ongoing.
In addition, there is also a case that the municipality has brought against the director for healthcare fraud.
