Xalapa, Ver., December 04, 2022.- The Undersecretary of Finance and Administration of Sefiplan, Eleazar Guerrero Pérez, informed that a short-term credit of one billion pesos will be requested, to meet the obligations at the end of the year.
He specified that thanks to austerity policies it was possible to gradually reduce the “terrible” budget deficit they received in 2018 and which at that time forced them to ask for a loan of more than 4.5 billion pesos.
“In 2018 we had to fix it so people could get their benefits and wages, but it’s important to say that every year we’ve reduced it. This year I think we will need financial support of about one billion to get out, and it is no longer the 4,500 pesos of 2018, ”she said.
He said the plan in place is to continue reducing the deficit so that, in December 2024, anyone who comes to government won’t have to borrow, “we want to leave with a zero budget deficit and leave finances healthy.”
He specifies that the requested loan will be paid in less than a year, since the main objective is not to leave the institution more indebted.
