A low-carbon agreement has been signed between Crédit Mutuel du District de Thionville and the Abeille de Lorraine honey farm run by Julien Frizon.
This partnership has been established for the next three years and will make it possible to manage eight transhumant hives in order to harvest different honeys according to the seasons. The goal is to recover 100 jars of honey per hive, i.e. 800 jars which will be donated to charities.
The Crédit Mutuel group is a player in the transition to a low-carbon economy. It implements policies to support its customers, control climate risks, and reduce its environmental footprint. The environment commission for the district of Thionville was set up in June 2022.
Edwige Schmitt-Bortot is president of the Crédit Mutuel caisses in the district of Thionville, which represents nineteen caisses in total.
In December 2022, a 5-hectare plot was planted with the contribution of the ONF in the national forest located on the communal ban of Kerling-lès-Sierck.
Educational events with schools will be set up to raise children’s awareness of the environment and biodiversity.
