At the Inselplatz stop, vehicles on the Bernmobil bus line 12 and the Postbus lines 100 and 101 that go into town regularly lose a lot of time during peak hours.

On the one hand, the buses have to wait in front of the traffic lights. On the other hand, the stop is not long enough for two vehicles to stop at the same time and the vehicle behind has to wait until the stop is free.

This situation affects the stability of the timetable. Therefore, the stops at Inselplatz are to be rearranged and redesigned so that they are barrier-free. At the same time, the bike infrastructure is to be improved.

For the implementation of the measures to optimize public transport and bicycle traffic, the municipal council has approved a loan of CHF 6.65 million for the city council.
