Creator of an account that tracks Elon Musk’s private jet joins Threads
Jack Sweeney, who created an account that tracks billionaire Elon Musk’s private jet, has joined Mark Zuckerberg’s Threads platform after his Twitter account was suspended last year.
“Illongate has come to Threads!” Sweeney said, in his first post on Twitter’s rival Threads platform, on Thursday. And the number of followers of Sweeney’s account on “Threads” reached more than 21 thousand, as of Saturday morning.
The Elongate account tracks the movements of Elon Musk’s private jet using data available in the public domain.
Musk’s Twitter company suspended his Elongate account in December, and the billionaire threatened legal action against the account’s operator, after he said a “crazy stalker” had mistakenly tracked his son.
Musk commented on Twitter, today, Saturday, saying: “The Threads app is just Instagram without pictures, which makes no sense, given that pictures are the main reason people use this app.”
Millions of users joined Meta-owned Threads within hours, including prominent personalities such as Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez and Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
The Threads platform seeks to take advantage of the weak state of “Twitter”, after a series of chaotic decisions taken by Musk.
