The umbrella organization of Luxembourg parents’ associations, Fapel, is breaking new ground to improve the education of children. The new approach was set up as part of a European project. In the Tageblatt interview, Fapel President Charles Krim explains how the concept works and what Luxembourg benefits from it.
But how are these improvements to be achieved? Parents play a key role in this. “By giving parents this predisposition, the children around them will adopt these skills without any special effort,” says Krim. The parents should therefore learn how to acquire knowledge quickly and how to react adaptably to the learning process. “When the children see their parents face a problem and solve it quickly, then the children absorb that potential and the approach and then apply it to themselves as well,” said the president. “By working on the parents, we act on the children.”
