The Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR) is the creative number 1 in all of North Rhine-Westphalia. The Art Directors Club for Germany (ADC) awarded this place.
Krefeld – For the university ranking, the jury evaluated the best semester, final and practical work that students from German-speaking countries had submitted to the ADC Talent Award competition over the past three years. This is the only national competition for young talent that covers all courses and creative disciplines.
A total of 54 universities were represented. With 39 points, the HSNR, with its locations in Krefeld and Mönchengladbach, took the lead among educational institutions in North Rhine-Westphalia, well ahead of the second-placed Dortmund University of Applied Sciences (26 points).
“The design departments of universities are the only educational institutions in Germany where not academic or engineering thinking is taught, but rather applied creative thinking. They therefore play a fundamental role, especially in times of crisis. After all, problems need good ideas to be solved,” says Prof. Richard Jung, describing the importance of this discipline. He sits on the ADC board of directors for research and teaching, is responsible for the Talent Award and teaches communication design and corporate identity at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences.
About 800 leading figures in creative communication join ADC, including designers, journalists, architects, illustrators, directors, composers and producers. (opm)
