Creation of a GIP “Maison Grand Est Europe”

The creation of a public interest group (GIP) “Maison Grand Est Europe”, in order to better represent the interests of the Grand Est within the European Union; generated the strongest opposition from the plenary session of the Grand Est Regional Council, meeting Thursday and Friday. Elected officials wondered about the possible duplication with the Europe Office in Brussels in the Grand Est. In fact, the Region will involve in this GIP the Departments, intercommunalities of more than 100,000 inhabitants, consular chambers and universities in order to intensify promotional and lobbying actions while allowing “Hunt European supporters in a pack”.
