What appeals to her about the sewn line is that it blends in can move around the room and not stand still.
At the age of 19, Dorothee Herrmann left her home village. She studied art in Stuttgart and made a name for herself as an artist. 50 years later she returned to Reil, bought a house with her partner and set up her studio and gallery there.
She wants to bring art to people and has initiated projects together with homeless people, with women imprisoned in the Aichach prison and with people from her home village of Reil. Dorothee Herrmann sees herself as a missionary for art who wants to ensure that people in her village are introduced to art more.
