Created a multimedia show “Mysterious Middle Ages” with music by Arnis Mednis / Article

In the premises of “Digital Art house” in Riga, an unprecedented event is currently being created in the Baltics – a multimedia show “Mysterious Middle Ages” with original music and medieval poetry by musician Arnis Mednis, visually intertwined with video projections by Hieronimus Boss. The new show combines ancient musical instruments with modern electronics. The premiere is expected on August 5.

Arnis Mednis says: “I have been interested in older music before, from time to time it floats. I remember singing madrigals in the boys’ choir of Emīls Dārziņš Music High School, which is also long ago. And now I had some more time and I, while soldering on the internet, came across medieval music and listened – hey, but they play hand and jazz there. ”

Since last autumn, the Digital Art House has been hosting a multimedia exhibition of Hieronymus Boss’s paintings, now it has been adapted for the new show.

Sviatoslav Mitjerev, Marketing Director of Digital Art House, says that he wants to evoke contrasting emotions in the audience: “Our task is to inspire people. Many spectators come out with goosebumps, many – grabbed or inspired. That’s the nicest thing. “

Arnis Mednis’ music will be surrounded by medieval mysticism and supplemented with the rhythms of modern electronic music. The medieval dance group “Balāre” will participate and medieval musical instruments will be used.

Musician Lenards Gotlubs explains that this music is unusual in itself and can rarely be heard on the street.

“I wanted a person to come to the Middle Ages and not only to the Middle Ages when he came to this multimedia show, but he would end up in a medieval painting, in the crazy world of Hieronymus Boss’s images,” says Arnis Mednis.
