Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, SZA and Billie Eilish were among the winners at the 2024 Grammy Awards, which were handed out Sunday in 94 categories. The awards were presented in two separate ceremonies taking place in Los Angeles.

Taylor Swift won album of the year for Midnights, making her the first person to win that category four times. Earlier in the show, Swift won best pop vocal album and took the opportunity to announce her new album in her acceptance speech. (Harry Styles’ Harry’s House won the award last year. “What Was I Made For?” from Barbie, written Billie Eilish O’Connell and Finneas O’Connell, was named song of the year, after having taken home the Grammy for best song written for visual media during the Premiere Ceremony.

Victoria Monét was named best new artist.

Miley Cyrus accepted the award for best pop solo performance for her hit “Flowers,” marking her first-ever Grammy win. She won her second Grammy later in the show, for record of the year.

Karol G won best música urbana album for MAÑANA SERÁ BONITO, and SZA won best R&B song for “Snooze.” During the Premiere Ceremony SZA won the Grammy for best pop duo/group performance for “Ghost In The Machine,” with Phoebe Bridgers, as well as the award for best progressive R&B album for SOS.

The show also featured a slew of performers, including Billy Joel, Miley Cyrus, U2, Burna Boy, Luke Combs, Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, Olivia Rodrigo, Joni Mitchell and Travis Scott, among others. Jay-Z accepted the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award, criticizing the Recording Academy in his speech.

The 2024 Grammys aired live on CBS and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers). Trevor Noah returned as host for a fourth consecutive year. The ceremony took place at Crypto.com Arena.

Meanwhile, the 2024 Grammy Premiere Ceremony, held at the Peacock Theater, was hosted by Justin Tranter. Kicking off the show, J. Ivy, Pentatonix, Jordin Sparks, Larkin Poe and Sheila E. took to the stage to perform “Let’s Go Crazy” by Prince.

“I am thrilled to stand before you incredible geniuses that create the heartbeat of our industry today,” Tranter said during his opening monologue. “We’re not just celebrating notes and melodies. We’re honoring the driving force behind those creations.”

Early Grammy winners include Barbie the Album for best compilation soundtrack for visual media. Oppenheimer also won the award for best score soundtrack for visual media.

The Beatles took home their first Grammy in nearly 30 years for best music video for “I’m Only Sleeping.” The group last won at the 39th awards ceremony in 1997.

For best country song and best country solo performance, Chris Stapleton won both awards for “White Horse” during the Premiere Ceremony.

Killer Mike won big in the rap category, scoring the awards for best rap song and best rap performance for “Scientists & Engineers,” and best rap album for Michael (before the live broadcast, he was detained for a physical altercation). Lil Durk and J. Cole won the Grammy for best melodic rap performance for “All My Life,” and Victoria Monét won for best R&B album for Jaguar II.

Tyla won best African music performance (a new category this year) for her viral hit song “Water,” and Coco Jones won her first Grammy for best R&B performance for “ICU.” Other new categories included best alternative jazz album (won by Meshell Ndegeocello) and best pop dance recording (Kylie Minogue).

The group boygenius (Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus) earned their first Grammys for best rock performance for “Not Strong Enough,” as well as for best rock song. Their album The Record won for best alternative music album.

Dave Chappelle also scored his fifth comedy album Grammy for What’s In A Name?.

Michelle Obama scored her second Grammy, this time for best audio book, narration and storytelling recording for The Light We Carry: Overcoming In Uncertain Times.

For best folk album, Mitchell earned the Grammy for Joni Mitchell At Newport [Live], making it her 11th Grammy Award.
