CREAR Futuros Program: Empowering Hispanic Students in New York with Tutoring, Financial Aid, and Resources

Through the “CREAR Futuros” program, Hispanic students in New York can receive tutoring, financial aid and available resources, with the help of mentors qualified by the organization. The initiative is completely free.

Nearly 7,000 students nationwide have benefited from the program, which has had a positive impact on their academic performance.

“The program increases Latino students’ GPA, course completion, and graduation retention rates by fostering connections, leadership, and community,” the website notes.

6 rules that you must comply with to participate in CREAR Futures:

You must attend and participate in individual 1:1 meetings with the mentor, mentee group meetings, and two or more workshops led by the Hispanic Federation. Commitment and participation in the CREAR Futuros program is for one academic year. You should communicate with your mentor at least once a week. Join campus group meetings, activities, and events designed to grow your network of learners and support academic and professional development. Send surveys at the end of each semester. Participate in Hispanic Federation CREAR Futures leading event workshops at least twice a year (launch event/Latino Leaders Days/volunteer opportunities, others).
