Crazy Rich India Wedding Drama, Wedding Photographer Sued for IDR 1.1 Billion

Bodrum, Turkey

The wedding of Anisha Patel and Arjun Mehta, the crazy rich kid from India, went viral because of its splendor and was celebrated for four consecutive days. But the marriage that was held in Turkey was inseparable from the drama behind it.

Anisha’s father, Dr. Amit Patel fired famed photographer Clane Gessel before the wedding even started. In his lawsuit Amit said that the photographer made a lot of demands on him.

Now, this wealthy man who works as a vascular surgeon wants US$ 76,000 or around Rp. 1.10, which is what the photographer paid to be returned.

“It was a panic-inducing situation. You can imagine telling your daughter a few days before her wedding that the chosen photographer is not coming,” said Amit.

The photographer had agreed in writing to stay at the Doubletree by Hilton instead of the five-star Mandarin Hotel, where the wedding was taking place. In the court filing, Amit also claimed that it was the photographer who decided who and when he would take pictures, even though in the agreement letter, he and his team had agreed to capture all the moments of the wedding.

Amit who was inflamed with the attitude of the photographer and his excessive requests immediately fired the photographer. Now, he is asking for money worth Rp 1.1 billion to be returned immediately.

Luckily the lavish wedding went well and the new photographer captured the moment beautifully. The wedding, which took place in December 2022, is said to have cost tens of billions of rupiah.

The pastel-themed building was held in a five-star hotel in Turkey. The bride even changed dresses 13 times. The wedding was covered by Vogue.
