Spanish actress Veronica Forke committed suicide. The 66-year-old star, known to the Bulgarian public in the role of the mayoress from the series “Crazy Neighbors”, was found dead at her home in Madrid, AFP reports.
“The mayoress is dead, long live the mayoress!” fans of the TV production wrote on Facebook, announcing her death.
“Goodbye, Veronica Forke. I worked with her a few years ago and I have a memory of a gentle and spiritual woman and a very good partner. Rest in peace”, wrote Antonio Banderas, sharing a black-and-white photo with his colleague.
According to Spanish media, the actress failed to cure the severe depression she had been battling for years. Even in the series, which until recently aired in our country, she plays a successful woman who is not satisfied with life and is looking for change.
Veronica Forke’s star rose in the 1970s, working with the biggest names in Spanish cinema in the 1980s and 1990s. She played Kika in Pedro Almodovar’s hit of the same name and has been considered the director’s favorite ever since. He then gets the roles in “Matador” and “How did I deserve this?”
He won four Goya Awards and participated in many theatrical productions.
