Crazy! All Gojek Drivers Will Use Electric Motors

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Pandu Sjahrir said that in the next 3-4 years, all Gojek drivers will use electric motorbikes. He mentioned this on YouTube Taulany TV along with prediction members, quoted on Friday (27/5/2022).

This electric motorbike can be used to order food and all services on the Gojek application.

“It’s just a message in the application that you can use an electric (motor) so that later it will be an option. Hopefully in 3 to 4 years everything will be like this,” said Pandu as Deputy President Director of PT TBS Energi Utama Tbk. (TOBA)

“Not only for GoTo, we sell it for all,” added Pandu.

This electric motor will also be supported by an ecosystem, such as the cooperation that has been established with Pertamina. Later users can easily exchange the battery on the electric motor and continue the journey again.

“Just change for five seconds, open the charge, enter, it’s already on standby. This motorbike can charge 120 kilos once the battery is charged,” he said.

Between GoTo and TBS, both have the same vision, namely a much better energy change. Especially in big cities, because nowadays it is important to maintain air quality and quality of life.

“So we all have the same mission, to achieve zero emissions by 2030. So for us to be environmentally friendly, it is very important that we also want a green business in the future,” concluded Pandu.

To note, TBS Energi together with PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) have formed a joint venture company called Electrum.

This company was built to develop the two-wheeled electric vehicle business. Electrum already has plans to build electric motor manufacturing, battery packaging technology, battery exchange infrastructure, and financing to own electric vehicles.
