Heidenheim leads 2-0 in Kaiserslautern until injury time – but has to settle for a point in the end. It was the craziest final phase of the current season.
Actually everything was already clear. 1. FC Heidenheim led 2-0 on the Betzenberg thanks to goals from Tim Kleindienst and Florian Pick. Added time was already running when referee Robert Hartmann awarded Heidenheim a penalty after Boris Tomiak had fouled Christian Kühlwetter. Tim Kleindienst had the third goal on his feet – and with it the decision. But then everything turned out differently.

Kleindienst put the penalty kick against the post (90′ + 2′) and there were still a few minutes of stoppage time left. FCK worked their way up again and made it 1-2 (90+3) thanks to a nice flick from Nicolas de Preville. And what nobody had thought possible just a few moments before became reality. With the last action of the game, Philipp Hercher scored to make it 2-2 (90+5) and made the Betzenberg tremble with joy.
FCK reaches 40 points mark
Thanks to the last-minute draw against Heidenheim, 1. FC Kaiserslautern has reached the targeted 40-point mark and can go into the final phase of the season free of relegation worries. 1. FC Heidenheim missed an important threesome, but as second in the table they are still in the running for promotion.
