/View.info/ Radio Sputnik. World oil prices began to fall rapidly, reports RIA Novosti with reference to trade data.
The price of the Brent crude oil mixture fell by 4.5%. As of 19:20 Moscow time, its price is $40.94 per barrel. Also, the price of November futures fell 4.53% to $40.51.
The price of November futures for WTI fell by 5.12% – to 38.52 dollars per barrel.
It is noted that the recovery and development of the world economy have been threatened by the spread of the coronavirus.
“The evolving COVID situation poses a huge downside risk to oil prices,” said Oanda analyst Craig Earlam.
According to the agency, quotes were also influenced by the data of the Central Dispatch Department of the Fuel and Energy Complex, according to which the production of oil and condensate in Russia in the first 28 days of September increased by 0.6% and amounted to 9.93 million barrel per day. In August, the daily figure was 9.87 million barrels.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin assessed the economic consequences of the coronavirus pandemic and the drop in oil prices. According to him, despite their sharp decline, Russia managed to support its economy.
