KOMPAS.com – Mark Marquez (Repsol Honda) was surprised after he experienced crash twice on the first day of pre-season testing MotoGP 2022 at the Sepang Circuit, Malaysia, Saturday (5/2/2022).
MotoGP pre-season test 2022 at the Sepang Circuit marks the return of Marc Marquez with Honda RC231V after more than 100 days.
The last time Marc Marquez rode an RC231V motorbike on the track was when he won the 2021 Emilia Romagna MotoGP race on October 24 last year.
After that, Marquez had to be sidelined for more than three months according to a mild concussion injury to suffer from diplopia or double vision.
Even though he just recovered from injury, Marquez managed to devour a total of 62 laps when he followed MotoGP pre-season test 2022 at the Sepang Circuit.

Marquez even managed to enter the top 10, to be precise 8th in the list of fastest riders on the first day of pre-season testing MotoGP 2022 at the Sepang Circuit.
The Baby Alien, Marquez’s nickname, managed to outperform many top racers. from Francesco Bagnaia (19), Jack Miller (22′), to Andrea Dovizioso (23′).
Overall, Marquez only lost 0.916 seconds to Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia) as the owner of the fastest lap on the first day of pre-season testing in Malaysia.
Marc Marquez’s struggle to complete 62 laps was not easy.
Because, Marc Marquez had twice experienced crash or slipping off the track.
Regarding this, Marquez could not explain the cause of the second accident.

Only, Marquez admitted that he still needed time to adapt to the 2022 edition of the Honda RC213V motorbike he was riding.
“The 2022 RC213V bike is very different. I know that I can easily get the speed and lap time with this new bike,” said Marquez quoted from the GP One website.
“However, the new bike also causes problems. I now have to learn and try to understand again the character of the bike. Everything is very different,” said Marquez.
“I admit I made a mistake when crash first. However, I don’t know the cause of my second crash. I didn’t do anything strange,” Marquez added.
“I still don’t know how best to ride this bike. I need time to adapt. Besides, I haven’t ridden a MotoGP bike for a long time,” said Marquez.

Furthermore, Marquez made sure his physical condition slowly began to improve and returned to normal.
Marquez is now trying to strengthen his arm, shoulder and arm muscles during the 2022 MotoGP pre-season test.
“Regarding my health or physical condition, our main focus right now is of course the eyes. However, the arms should not be neglected either,” said Marquez.
“I feel better physically. However, the use of muscles during racing cannot be replicated in gym,” said Marquez.
“I will try hard so that my shoulder does not swell throughout this year. Because, if that happens, the pain will increase and I will lose strength,” said the Spaniard added.
Furthermore, Marquez is scheduled to return to asphalt on the second day of the 2022 MotoGP pre-season test at the Sepang Circuit, Sunday (6/2/2022).

After that, Marc Marquez is scheduled to fly to Indonesia to take part in the 2022 MotoGP pre-season test at the Mandalika Circuit, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.
The 2022 MotoGP pre-season test at the Mandalika Circuit will last for three days on 11-14 February.
The MotoGP World Championship this season will open with a race at the Losail Circuit, Qatar, on March 6, 2022.
