The accident happened around 1.05 pm, when the crane truck passed the level crossing. According to bystanders, the collision with the overhead wires was clearly heard by a loud bang. According to Public Service Officer Thijs van Beurden, three overhead wires have actually been disconnected. They hang above the car. In addition, a railway tree and a lamppost were damaged.

At the moment, employees of Prorail incident control are trying to secure the pipelines. The driver of the crane truck was only able to get out of the vehicle later because this could only be done safely when the power had been removed from the overhead wires.

Four trains

According to a spokeswoman for Prorail, four trains were hindered by the broken overhead wires and came to a halt. One train to Boxtel was then still able to return to the station. Evacuation buses have been deployed for the other three trains, with a total of 675 passengers. They run between Tilburg and Den Bosch and Den Bosch and Boxtel.

Handling

Several transitions were closed. In addition to the Loonsebaan, also those on Repelweg and Sint Elisabethstraat. The last two were later reopened. In the place, the transition at the Helvoirtseweg is currently closed. According to the NS, the outage would last until at least 17:30. Afterwards, the spokeswoman for Prorail reported that the handling would take until at least 23:00, but now it appears to take more time.
