JAKARTA – Sensor Tower reports TikTok successfully penetrated 3 billion downloads or download globaly. This makes it the first non-gaming app outside the Facebook family to achieve that figure.
As is known, WhatsApp, Messenger, Facebook, and Instagram have passed 3 billion downloads. Launch page CNET, Saturday (17/7/2021) in the first half of 2021, TikTok became the most downloaded non-gaming app globally, with 383 million first-time installs at the start of the year.

Although that figure is down by 619 million installs in the first half of 2020. The 38% drop in 2020 is attributed to blocking apps from the market in India.
In the first quarter of 2021, downloads rose 2% quarter-on-quarter, to 177.5 million, and jumped again in the second quarter, by 16%.
In 2020, TikTok amassed 315 million downloads, breaking a global record in the first quarter and achieving more downloads in a single quarter than any app.
