The Circle of Journalists of Valledupar (CPV), Through an assembly held on Saturday, August 26, it elected its new board of directors, in which Francisco Rafael Escalona Bolaños remained as president.
The assembly was held in the event hall. Pablo Oliveros from the University of the Andean Area of this city, where for more than five hours, 189 members of the union were gathered to develop the agenda.
In said space, the journalist María Elvira Marulanda, who was in office for two years, expressed her gratitude for the support received to achieve the different actions during her term.
The election process for the new assembly was carried out through two groups, one headed by Escalona Bolaños and the other by Marulanda, who aspired to continue his work in the CPV.

The results of the votes carried out by the members of the circle of journalists leaned in favor of Escalona, who obtained a total of 125 votes, while María Marulanda had the support of 61 votes in favor, a result that left Rafael Escalona in the position of president of the CVP, which he will serve for a period of two years.
“It is a great pride and a great opportunity to give back what I have received for many years from this union, it is time to serve and seek union unity ”, Escalona stated.
The journalists that make up the board of directors will be Francisco Rafael Escalona as president; Hender Lara Jiménez, as Vice President; Alba Leonor Quintero, treasurer; Marta Rivas, secretary; Evelyn Díaz, undersecretary; Gustavo Reyes Lemus, prosecutor; Daniela Cárdenas and Mohamed Díaz, training members; Humberto Carrillo, member of the Committee and Marketing; Hernando Vergara, member of Primicia and Shirley Rico, coordinator of the Sirena Vallenata Journalism Awards.
