CPM Meeting to Address Karuvannur Cooperative Bank Financial Fraud

Thiruvananthapuram – A meeting was held at AKG Center to solve the problem of financial fraud in Karuvannur Cooperative Bank. Kerala Bank Vice Chairman MK Kannan is also participating in the meeting chaired by CPM State Secretary MV Govindan. The meeting is held in the context of the investigation of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the fraud cases related to Karuvannur Bank.

CPM does not want to give the Karuvannur issue as a weapon to its political opponents as the Lok Sabha elections are approaching. The CPM also takes into account the growing opposition in the party against irregularities in the cooperative sector. The party also believes that there is a possibility that the investigation will reach the top leaders of the CPM.

An attempt is being made to cool the public anger by returning the money to those who lost money. About Rs 50 crore from Kerala Bank is being planned to be handed over to the victims of the Karuvannur scam. MK Kannan had clarified that this matter is under consideration. This matter and matters to be implemented urgently in the field of cooperation will be discussed in the meeting.
