The incident took place yesterday evening when a young man of Palolikulangara Jamaat and a young woman belonging to another Jamaat gathered in the church to settle the marriage issue. During the discussion, there was an altercation and conflict between the two sides. Jamaat office was also attacked. The police say that Salim was beaten up during this.
The body is in a private hospital in Karunagappally. Postmortem tomorrow.
