Cowboys place Cooper on COVID-19 list

FRISCO, Texas, USA (AP) – Catcher Amari Cooper entered the COVID-19 list and will miss the Dallas Cowboys’ Sunday game in Kansas City.

The decision announced Friday raises questions about whether Cooper will be available for the Thanksgiving game against his former team, the Las Vegas Raiders.

Cooper is second only to CeeDee Lamb, the Cowboys leader in receptions, yards and touchdowns. He has 44 receptions for 583 yards and five touchdowns.

The absence of the player, who is in his seventh year as a professional, comes in the second game since catcher Michael Gallup returned, who missed seven games after suffering a calf strain in the season opener.

Dallas would have the variants to overcome the loss of a player considered to be its best receiver since the middle of the 2018 season, when the team agreed to a trade with the Raiders to acquire him.

In addition to Lamb’s six touchdown catches – the team’s most – Cedrick Wilson has added three. Malik Turner has had his first two-touchdown game of his career, although both came when the Cowboys were already down 30 points in Denver’s 30-16 win.

Although Cooper has frequently dealt with injuries since arriving in Dallas, he had not missed a single game since the trade. The COVID-19 absence will end a streak of 50 consecutive games in the regular season by this receiver with the Cowboys.
