The Dallas Cowboys owner, Jerry Jones, said he believes Michael Gallup will be out for the remainder of the season after tearing his ACL during their Week 17 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday at AT&T Stadium. Gallup will undergo an MRI on Monday to confirm the extent of the injury.
Gallup scored a touchdown at the end of the second quarter, but struggled to get up before getting helped to the locker room. The 25-year-old wide receiver was quickly declared out for the rest of the game.
Wilson to replace Gallup
Cedrick Wilson, who scored a TD against Arizona, will replace Gallup for the Cowboys’ last game of the regular NFL season against the Philadelphia Eagles, and in the playoffs. When Gallup was out for seven weeks with a calf strain earlier in the year, Wilson took his spot and filled in admirably.
Gallup entered Sunday’s game with 32 catches in eight outings, and he added three receptions against the Cardinals. Gallup has 14 touchdown catches since getting drafted in the third round back in 2018.
