Cowboy Henk drawings worth 60,000 euros pilfered.

The plates were in the closed car of an employee of the Fremok publishing house. A thief made off with a laptop, twelve pages from the album ‘De Paardenschenkers’ and four separate pages from Cowboy Henk.

In 2014, the writer Kamagurka and artist Herr Seele won the patrimonium prize at the Angoulême comics festival for Cowboy Henk, as a result of which the series was included in the comics heritage.

The album ‘De Paardenschenkers’ is considered a textbook example of absurdism and is an important work in Belgian comics history. The original plates date from the 1980s when they appeared in both the Flemish weekly magazine Humo and the French publication L’Echo Des Savanes.
