A scene worthy of a western… Right in the middle of a highway. Michigan State troopers released crazy footage captured by the dashcam of one of their vehicles on May 21. In the footage, a cow can be seen speeding down the Oakland County I-75 freeway. Behind her, a cowboy on horseback gallops off, swinging a lasso above his head.
Authorities say the cow, which escaped from a farm, was stuck in a gravel pit near the road. Cowboys intervened to free her. They then notified the local police, in case the cattle escaped onto the traffic lanes. And that’s exactly what happened: “Cowboys chased the cow with four-wheelers, horses and lassos. Police have closed the north and south lanes of I-75 for safety reasons,” Michigan Police said on Twitter.
After a short chase, the cow was finally captured. “It was stressful but it ended well! “, welcomes on Facebook Ricky Littlejohn, the heroic cowboy. “We do this for a living, so please give us a call if you need to capture cows or transport livestock,” he added in another post.
More fear than harm, “the cattle have not been charged and are back on the pasture with a story to tell all the other farm animals,” the Michigan authorities humorously conclude on social networks.
